KRyLack Password Recovery 3.41

KRyLack Password Recovery Editor's Review

KRyLack Password Recovery is a program designed to help you retrieve lost or forgotten passwords used for protecting your ZIP, ACE and RAR archives or self-extracting archive packages. Options for password cracking include dictionary, brute force and brute force with mask attacks. You can also extract the archives using the internal unpacker. The application retrieved the passwords used to encrypt RAR, ACE and ZIP archives using dictionary atack. The brute force attack searched with a rate between 90 and 150 combinations per minute. Using brute force attacks to crack ACE, ZIP and RAR protected archives lead us nowhere. After processing a number of combinations, we got a message saying: "failed to open the file or the file is not supported yet." This might be due to the fact that the copy we tested is an evaluation copy.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: A good application, but be aware that it will take a lot of time in case you are using brute force with several charsets.
